This is the official first post from Semarang Yum!--Semarang restaurant guide and review. I hope you stumble upon this page because you want to know more about Semarang and her delectable food. Let this be an introduction :)
For so long I had been intrigued to start a food blog about my city, especially since I got mucho, "Where's that?" from my international friends when I told them about my hometown, Semarang. Well, I don't blame them since my hometown is not even one of the hippest cities in Indonesia. But things are about to change :) Semarang which was once considered as the sleepy capital city, is getting the buzz from the younger and global-minded generation. Since the last quarter of 2012, I've seen countless new cafes and restaurants sprouting out all over the city. From places selling new concept of Indonesian food to fancy establishment pleasing the taste buds of international foodie enthusiasts, they are all out there. And I'm here to find out which ones are worth the visit.
This little project of mine is made possible by my little brother--Sam--who will be my partner reviewer in most of my future posts. He's an interior designer who has keen eyes on tasty grubs and beauty. Those skills definitely will help.
